Your Ceremony, Rehearsal to RecessionalWe know the rules

A church wedding is the one ceremony where somebody else makes the rules. Some parishes allow flash, most do not. Some keep photographers behind a line at the back, others allow the side aisles. A full Catholic nuptial Mass runs about an hour, while a Protestant ceremony often runs twenty five minutes. Weddings Unlimited asks your church what is allowed before the wedding day rather than finding out in the middle of your vows.

01

The Rehearsal

We ask to attend the rehearsal or to get the order of service in writing, whichever your officiant prefers. That is where we learn the processional order, where the readers sit, and how long the homily actually runs.

02

The Processional

Grandparents, parents, the wedding party, then you. We frame it so both of your parents are genuinely in the shot rather than a blur behind a bridesmaid, and we work from the side rather than standing in the middle of your aisle.

03

Readings, Homily and the Vows

The quiet middle of the ceremony, and the part where a photographer moving around is most disruptive. So ours stop moving. Long lens from a fixed position, nothing near the front, and nobody walking during your vows.

04

Unity Candle, Lasso or Cord

A unity candle, sand, a lasso or a cord depending on your tradition. It is a short moment with a lot of hands in it, so we position for your faces rather than the object and photograph the object properly before the ceremony.

05

Communion and the Full Mass

If you are having a full nuptial Mass, add an hour. Communion takes time almost nobody budgets for and it pushes your portraits and your reception start. Our coordinators plan the day backwards from that instead of forwards from the invitation time.

06

The Recessional

The shot everybody wants and the one that happens fastest. Two cameras, one at the altar and one at the back of the aisle, so you get the turn and the walk out rather than one or the other.

07

Family Formals at the Altar

Most churches give you a window after the ceremony and then they need the room back. We take your list in advance, call names out loud, and work in an order that lets grandparents sit down first. Twenty minutes, not forty five.

08

The Exit

Bubbles, petals, bells, or sparklers outside if your church allows them. We check what is permitted before you buy anything, which has saved more than one couple a box of sparklers they were never going to be allowed to light.

We Ask Your Church First

Flash or no flash, where photographers may stand, whether video is allowed, whether anyone may be on the altar, and how the crew should dress. We contact your parish or your church coordinator ahead of the day, and whatever they say is what our team does.

Ceremony Here, Reception There

A church wedding almost always means two locations and a gap in the middle. We build the travel, the portraits and the cocktail hour into one timeline, and because our time is unlimited that gap does not cost you coverage at either end.

Catholic, Baptist, Non Denominational, Orthodox

A full nuptial Mass, a twenty five minute Protestant service, an Orthodox crowning, a bilingual ceremony with two officiants. Tell us which one is yours and the timeline and the shot list get built for it.

Inside the Ceremony

Altar, veil and blessing · Shot from the side, never the aisle

Stone, stained glass, a long veil and a room where the light does whatever it wants. Church ceremonies reward a photographer who has already worked out where to stand, because there is usually only one place they are allowed to be.

After the Recessional

The walk out, the portraits and the first toast

The doors open, the bells go, and the rest of the day starts. Between the church and the reception there is usually a gap, and how well that gap is planned decides whether you get portraits or a rushed twenty minutes in a parking lot.

Why Couples Book Us

Built for a Room Where Someone Else Sets the RulesWe ask first

Weddings Unlimited is family owned, 16 years in, 8,000+ weddings and 90+ people on staff. Here is what that actually buys you.

01

We Call Your Church Before the Day

Flash rules, where we may stand, whether video is allowed, what the crew should wear. We contact your parish or church coordinator ahead of time, so nobody is being waved off the altar steps during your vows.

02

Unlimited Time Covers the Gap

Church at two, reception at six. That gap is completely normal and it is not a reason to lose coverage at either end. We do not bill by the hour and we do not charge overtime.

03

Two Cameras for the Recessional

One at the altar, one at the back of the aisle. It is the fastest twenty seconds of your entire day and there is no second take, so we cover both ends of it.

04

You Pick Your Own Team

We recommend and you choose, you always have creative control. You meet the person who will actually be standing in your church, not a salesperson who hands you off to whoever is free.

Transparent pricing, no hidden fees, and every service gets cheaper when you put two together. Couples regularly save $1,000 to $3,000 bundling instead of booking four separate vendors.

You Have Full Control

Choose Your Own Church Wedding TeamWe recommend, you choose

Most companies send whoever's free. We don't. You see real people, their real work, and you decide who shoots your wedding, who films it, who runs the dance floor and who keeps the day on schedule. They're our staff, and many have been here for years.

  2. 2

    We recommend matches

We line up the photographers, filmmakers, DJs and coordinators who fit your date, your style and your crowd.

  3. 3

  4. 4

    Your team shows up, unlimited

The people you picked are the people who arrive, and they stay from first look to last dance with no hourly meter.

Asked and Answered

Church Wedding Questions, AnsweredNo runaround

Can you photograph a wedding in our church?

Yes. Weddings Unlimited photographs, films, DJs and coordinates church weddings across Texas and Arizona, in Catholic, Protestant, non denominational and Orthodox churches. We contact your parish or church coordinator before the day to confirm what is allowed, and we work the way they ask.

How much does a church wedding photographer cost in Texas?

Wedding photography with Weddings Unlimited is $1,950 for unlimited time, and that covers both your church ceremony and your reception even when they are hours apart. Videography is $1,950, a DJ and MC is $1,485, a photo booth is $1,000 and day of coordination is $1,500. Photography and videography together are $2,975.

What if our church does not allow flash?

That is very common and it is not a problem. Our photographers shoot available light in churches as a matter of course, using fast lenses and cameras that handle low light, and we plan for it rather than being surprised by it. We confirm the flash rule with your church before the wedding day.

Can you photograph a full Catholic nuptial Mass?

Yes. A full nuptial Mass runs about an hour, roughly twice as long as a ceremony without Mass, and includes readings, the homily and Communion. We work from a fixed position with a long lens through the quiet parts, and your coordinator builds the extra hour into the timeline so your portraits do not get squeezed.

Will you come to the rehearsal?

We ask to, and most officiants are happy to have us there. If your church prefers we do not attend, we take the order of service in writing instead. Either way we know the processional order, where the readers sit and how the recessional is going to run before the wedding day.

How much time should we allow between the ceremony and the reception?

Plan for at least two hours if the two venues are in the same city, and more if they are not. That covers the receiving line, family formals at the altar, travel and your own portraits. Because our time is unlimited, a long gap costs you nothing in coverage.

Can you do the family formals at the altar?

Yes, and it goes much faster when it is planned. We take your family list in advance, call the groups out loud in an order that lets grandparents sit down first, and usually finish in about twenty minutes. Most churches only give you a short window before they need the room back.

Can we have sparklers or petals outside the church?

It depends entirely on your church, and we check before you buy anything. Some allow bubbles and petals but not sparklers, some do not allow anything on the steps, and some have a specific spot they want the exit to happen in. We ask when we confirm the photography rules.

Do you film church ceremonies as well as photograph them?

Yes. Videography is $1,950 for unlimited time, and photography and videography together are $2,975. Some churches restrict where a video camera can be placed or whether it can be operated during the ceremony, so we confirm that with them in the same conversation about photography.

Can you DJ the reception if the ceremony is at a church?

Yes. A DJ and MC is $1,485 and covers your whole reception with no hourly limit. Having the photographer, videographer, DJ and coordinator from one company means one timeline and one point of contact across two venues, which is the main reason couples bundle.

Do you cover church weddings in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Phoenix?

Yes. Weddings Unlimited serves Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Phoenix, plus Scottsdale, Sedona and Flagstaff in Arizona. Our local team is in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Phoenix and San Antonio, and pricing is the same in every market with no travel fee.
