Camp Comfort is a restored 1860s building in Comfort, Texas that started life as an athletics club and bowling alley and is now a boutique hotel and event property. The ceremony site is creekside on Cypress Creek under a canopy of ancient cypress trees, the courtyard runs open air or tented, and the historic Social Hall with its high ceilings and concert stage is the indoor option for about eighty seated. Twelve lodging units on the property, cabins, a Spartan Manor, an Airstream and the Camp Comfort House with its own pool, sleep around forty two, so most couples buy out the whole place for a weekend. We have photographed, filmed and DJed here. That cypress canopy throws heavy dappled light, which is beautiful and completely unforgiving if your photographer meters for it wrong.
