The Fort Bend Museum campus in historic Richmond gives couples something no purpose built venue can: a genuine antebellum mansion with white columns and a deep veranda, exclusive access to it for photographs, a ceremony lawn beside it, a courtyard and the museum gallery itself for the reception. Only one wedding a day is booked, so the property is entirely private. Capacity is 120 indoors and 200 outdoors, with tables, white folding chairs and setup staff included. We have photographed a wedding here and know exactly how those columns and that veranda read at different hours, and how much string lighting and a dancing-on-a-cloud first dance add on the lawn once the sun is down.
