The Chateau of Longview on Tryon Road is built for the whole weekend rather than the day: a bridal house, a groom's house, a main house that sleeps 14, a bunk house for six and a honeymoon suite, alongside the reception barn and an outdoor reception area. Weekend packages run three nights for up to 20 people, so the wedding party wakes up on site and nobody is driving anywhere. Ceremonies happen outdoors against the East Texas pines, and capacity runs to about 200. We have photographed a wedding here and know how the tree line sits behind a ceremony arch through the afternoon, and how much our uplighting, photo booth and a dancing-on-a-cloud first dance add in the barn once the sun is gone.
