Zilkha Hall is the intimate theater inside the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts at 800 Bagby Street in Houston, on the western edge of downtown beside Tranquillity Park. The hall seats about five hundred across two levels and is often called a jewel box, with a proscenium stage, an orchestra pit, deep rose tones, walnut accents and acoustics built for live performance. It has its own dedicated lobby with a bar, box office and restrooms, so a wedding party uses the space privately. The Hobby Center rents several areas, including Zilkha Hall, the glass walled Grand Lobby with skyline views, and the Founders Club on the mezzanine, so the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception can each happen in a different room of the same building. On site staff handle lighting, sound and stage labor.
